Stalls are £15 per day and you can pay me on the day. Please bring the exact cash with you so that I can collect it when you have set up.

If you would like to enquire about a stall, please email me: alicemason367@hotmail.com.

Info for Crafters:

Artists/makers can arrive from 9 am am to set up. Please do not arrive any earlier than 9 am. All tables are allocated with your name on. The stalls/tables are in the main hall, also the entrance/foyer, and up on the stage in the main hall.

If you have pre-booked with me, your name will be on your table when you arrive. It is a lovely and friendly fair with music playing quietly. All the tables are already set up for you. Spaces are £15 per table for crafters. Please bring the cash with you when you arrive and I will collect it when you have set up.

There is parking outside for unloading and some space for all day parking but if there is no more room, unload first and you can park in the Grove down the road or in Love Lane by Rye College. Also there is a car park down the road by Rope Walk Arcade which is only £1.50 for all day. After unloading, please don’t just leave your car outside the hall unless it is in a designated parking space. The Rye Community Centre is on Conduit Hill and the post code is TN31 7LE. You can easily find this on Google maps if you type the postcode in. Conduit Hill is a cobbled street leading up to the High Street and it is right in the centre of Rye. Stalls are £15 per day and you can pay me on the day. Please bring the exact cash with you so that I can collect it when you have set up. (sorry for repetition, but this is important.)

Tables are about six foot long and 2 ft wide and are already in place. Do bring anything along that enables you to showcase your work to the best effect. There is power and many outlets for small lamps/fairy lights.

My name is Alice and I am the organiser. My phone number is 01424 812550, or 07910 718962.

Call me or email me: alicemason367@hotmail.com if you would like to reserve a table/stall, or I can put you on the reserve list if certain fairs are fully booked. Please email me and put me in your contacts list so that my emails always get to you.

Craft Fair Etiquette.

At the fair, please do not pack up your stall until 5pm. This is because other stallholders and I feel this detracts from the overall look and feel of the fair if anyone packs up early. Also there are often lots of tourists and customers who arrive out of the blue late in the day and come in and purchase alot of work and you could be missing out. Craft fairs are usually busy in waves and fluctuations throughout the day.

Publicity and Advertising

All our dates are listed on 1066country.com

We are also in lots of online events websites, in the Rye Tourist office, Events listings in Fixtures magazine, the Rye website.

We were featured in last month’s Coast magazine as number 4 in Ten Things to do This Month, including highlights and events from all over the country!

I advertise on large boards on THREE approach roads into RYE, one in Playden, one on the Winchelsea to Rye Road and one large sign opposite Budgens . I put up massive hand-painted signs (by me) with large hand-painted dates, for a week prior to the fair, I change these dates every time I do a fair, every two weeks.. and I put up lots of pretty hand printed laminated signs, signs all around Rye With Dates.. The laminated signs have Rye Community Centre, Conduit Hill, TN31 7LE, written on all the signs. The hand-painted signs have Rye Community Centre written on them. There is only one craft fair at the community centre, our fair. I have been doing two craft fairs per month, for two and a half years, always at the community centre. . People know our craft fair, we have many regulars.  Facebook also works really really well, and it is a very powerful networking tool which works as people share on their sites, blogs, Twitter and I make a fb event which works brilliantly too.. We have a Facebook page which has over two hundred followers and because of facebook we have visitors from as far afield as London and West Sussex. I put a poster in Rye Tourist Information office too, laminated signs on lamp posts near the church, outside the tourist office too.

It is also very important for stall holders to make their own publicity, business cards, blogs, fb pages and websites if they want to create a business model out of craft fairs.

I only charge £15 per person and the hall is expensive to hire and I also have to pay an hourly rate for using the heating. I have two children and a husband and am self employed full time artist, and commercial artist. It takes alot of time, effort and love.

We have loads of very happy regular stall holders. It is a really fun and friendly fair.
I also have all our dates on the Rye website.
On the day of each fair I put up laminated signs on the day of the fair all around Rye with Arrows pointing to Conduit Hill, and seven hand painted signs outside on the day, loads of bunting too.

April 13th Rye Craft Fair

It was a lively and buzzing day at the craft fair with lots of visitors and tourists and full to capacity with stall holders.  We had some beautiful stalls and new people.  The cafe sold out of food and many people said they sold really well.

I keep the fair at only £15 so that if people don’t make much money at least they only had to shell out £15. Many fairs charge way more than that.  Some people certainly make a good amount of money on the day.

I always put signs and posters all over, and signs on approach roads into Rye. As it is a twice monthly event, people know where we are. It is a fun and lively event.

Stalls are £15 per day and you can pay me on the day. Please bring the exact cash with you so that I can collect it when you have set up.
