Click to view slideshow.It was a busy day with lots of new artists and makers, and the cafe was the busiest it’s ever been, and Nigel sold out of everything, right down to the last oat cookie. I love that our friends can come and hang out there and know that we love to have them there. I love Rye!
The weather was rainy and windy, yet still there were people coming in and out and buying. People seem so happy just to have the social contact and see the beautiful things other creative people are making. When spring comes, Rye will be buzzing with visitors and tourists. I am going to be opening up another room at the community centre, hopefully by next month, and it is currently being redecorated. So some of our crafters will be able to be in that room if they choose.
I have painted a large mural on MDF for the cafe area, which will be in place next month too. The next craft fair will be March 10th. Please see below for all the dates and info about the craft fair.Click to view slideshow.

January Fair

It was a really quite a busy day with lots of new crafters and punters even though Rye was freezing and the train station closed. Very lively and fun.. The cafe was full and people sold well. Always lots of lovely feedback… Next Craft fair is February 18th, which is Scallop week in Rye and always brings in plenty of tourists and daytrippers.

Here are the rest of the year’s dates:
18th Feb, 10th March, 14th April, 12th May, 9th June, 7th July, 11th Aug, 8th Sept, 6th Oct, 3rd Nov, 1st Dec 2012, 8th dec 2012.

General info about Rye Craft Fair:

The Fair starts at 11am and finishes at 5pm. Artists/makers can arrive at 9 am to set up. There is parking outside for unloading and some space for all day parking but if there is no more room, unload first and you can park in the Grove down the road or in Love Lane by Rye College. The Rye Community Centre is on Conduit Hill and the post code is TN31 7LE. You can easily find this on Google maps if you type the postcode in. Or there is a map further down this page.
Tables are about six foot long and 2 ft wide and are already in place. The tables are £12 each per day and you can pay me on the day. My name is Alice and I am the organiser. My phone number is 01424 812550, or 07910 718962. Call me if you would like to reserve a table/stall. Bring anything along that enables you to showcase your work to the best effect. There is power and outlets for small lamps/fairy lights.
There is a lovely cafe in the craft fair with gorgeous homemade food and at really reasonable prices. Entry to the fair is free. Invite your friends.

There will also be the Rye Mind Body Spirit Fair on March 17th and 18th at the Rye community Centre, and we are looking for artists and makers for that too. Details can be found here: www.mindbodyspiritrye.wordpress.com

It was another busy day and not too cold, so Rye was full of visitors and the craft fair was bustling and fun. The next one will be Dec 10th, 11 am to 5 pm.

A very busy day with lots of punters and some new artists and makers. The cafe did a roaring trade and it was lovely to see the lovely Rye regulars. The stage was used as part of the fair and it added a whole new dimension. Looking forward to next month, with home-made mince pies and festive atmosphere, and there will probably be some new stalls in the cafe too. Please see section below for all information for artists and makers. The next two Christmas Craft fairs are December 3rd and December 10th, 11 am til 5 pm.
I took some photos today, but it was only on my Blackberry, which accounts for the dodgy quality. December is now all booked up but if you would like a stall in December please call or email, (alicemason367@hotmail.com) as I can make a reserve list, in case anyone drops out.
